I have been working on a really valuable and interesting concept all to do with making facilitation techniques and processes more accessible for all attendees when conducting meetings/workshops. This concept originally started after being raised by an organisation at an annual away day that one of the break out sessions was incredibly difficult to follow for someone with a hearing impairment.

This prompted the question of what are the considerations to make when designing, communicating and executing sessions, Where all colleagues can feel comfortable and considered?

After a number of conversations with typical facilitators within technology (Business Analysts, UX’ers, Project Managers and Service Designers) after drafting initial thoughts, it prompted the question, is guidance even the right starting point? Is it possible to create a one size fits all document that could cover every consideration? Would there be more value working on embedding and baking a culture where requirements for workshops should be understood and prompted by the facilitator? And finally, where attendees can feel comfortable enough to raise any accessibility requirements.
Guidance is a good starting point here is a great example https://www.seedsforchange.org.uk/accessiblemtg.pdf but this isn’t the final product to achieving inclusive and accessible facilitation
